The Marriott Amsterdam is truly a Marriott property. From the outside to building is ugly as hell, but on the inside, it has all the amenities and the high-quality service one expects from a Marriott hotel. Our junior suite was spacious, the bed was great, the ground floor executive lounge good and staff extremely friendly. In particular, the operators handling room service was amazing. Like many other Marriotts there was a Grill restaurant which was actually one of the best steakhouse restaurants I have ever experienced in a hotel.
For smokers, Marriott Amsterdam has both an outside (heated) and inside (cigar room) smoking facility which is great. The amenities and services of a Marriott hotel doesn’t come cheap which is also the case in Amsterdam, but you know that from the beginning. Location is really good in terms of attractions abandoned downtown access, but in a next visit to Amsterdam one might want to move closer to the city center to experience some of the old town ambienceand be closer to the famed canals of Amsterdam.
